Discover Your Day-by-Day Journey

Day 1: Arrival, Anticipation & Attire Dreams – November 6th

Your journey begins the moment your feet touch the soil of Accra. The air feels different—it carries the heartbeat of a people who have endured, celebrated, and preserved their legacy through time. After a warm welcome by your local guides, you’ll be whisked to your luxurious accommodations for a chance to rest and recharge.

But the true magic starts when you meet with local seamstresses and tailors to have your measurements taken for your custom attire. As your fingers brush against vibrant fabrics, this simple act becomes something sacred—a symbol of your connection to the culture and to yourself. The evening continues with a welcome dinner, where new faces become fast friends, and the spirit of sisterhood (and brotherhood) begins to bloom.

Day 2: Walking Through Freedom’s Roots - November 7th

The journey to Kumasi is not just a road trip—it’s a return to one of Africa’s most powerful kingdoms. Upon arrival, you’ll step into the majestic Manhyia Palace, where echoes of kings and queens still fill the air. The statues, artifacts, and portraits around you are not just relics—they are reminders that African royalty didn’t begin in fairy tales; it began here.

Later, you’ll wander the halls of the Kumasi Cultural Centre and Prempeh II Museum, diving deeper into the rich narrative of the Ashanti people. Each exhibit, each mural, each word shared by your guide paints a fuller picture of the brilliance, resilience, and pride of this historic region.

Day 3: Royal Roads to Kumasi - November 8th

Day 4: Hands, Heart, Heritage, Harmony

Begin your morning in creativity and mindfulness with a bead-making workshop. As your hands string each bead, you’re connecting to a lineage of makers whose art speaks without words. Then, step back into time as you visit the Asante Traditional Buildings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where clay walls once sheltered gods and mortals alike.

After lunch, you’ll head to craft villages that preserve Ghana’s soul through textiles and wood. In Ntonso, you’ll learn the symbolic language of adinkra; in Ahwiaa, the art of wood carving; and in Adanwomase, you’ll meet the weavers who keep the sacred kente cloth tradition alive. These aren’t just crafts—they are love letters to ancestry, identity, and pride.

Day 5: Echoes of the Ancestors - November 10th

The day opens with the lively chaos of Kejetia Market—the largest open-air market in West Africa. Watch the women vendors hold court with confidence, their stalls filled with stories as much as goods. Here, commerce and culture dance in colorful, boisterous harmony.

But the tone shifts as you travel to Assin Manso, home to the Ancestral River Park. At Donko Nsuo—the Slave River—you’ll walk the same path where so many were led before being sold into slavery. You’ll stand by the water where thousands were given their “last bath.” It is not an easy visit—but it is necessary. Through tears and reverence, you’ll understand this journey’s sacredness in a new way.

Day 6: Grief, Grace & Coming Home - November 11th

This is the day many travelers say changes them forever.

First, explore the treetops at Kakum National Park, walking high above the rainforest on West Africa’s longest canopy walkway. The view is breathtaking—but it’s only the beginning. The emotional weight deepens at Cape Coast Castle, one of the most infamous slave forts on the continent. There, you’ll enter the cold, narrow dungeons where our ancestors were held. And then you will walk through the “Door of No Return.”

But something sacred happens.

Together, as a community, you walk back through that door. You return. And in doing so, you rewrite history—if only for yourself. That night, you’ll process your emotions in a drum and dance session that celebrates survival, spirit, and joy that could not be stolen.

Day 7: Claiming Names, Reclaiming Roots - November 12th

Today, Ghana names you.

In a heartfelt ceremony filled with dancing, drumming, and community, you’ll be given your traditional African name. You’ll feel seen, honored, and connected in a way you may have never experienced before. It’s a moment that will live in your spirit forever.

You’ll then tour Elmina Castle, a hauntingly beautiful reminder of Ghana’s complex history. After lunch, return to Accra and lose yourself in the deep maze of the Arts Centre—the nation’s largest craft market. Here, treasures await, both in material and memory. The day ends with an optional live band performance, where joy takes the stage once more.

Day 8: Roots, Rivers, Reflections, Rebirth - November 13th

Venture into Shai Hills Resource Reserve where baboons roam and caves whisper the stories of the Shai people. Climb through ancient ancestral caves and feel the wisdom of the land itself surround you. Afterward, journey to the serene banks of the Volta River, where you’ll enjoy a reflective boat ride that feels like a baptism of everything this journey has meant.

Back in Accra, you’ll return to your tailor for the final fitting—your custom-made attire now infused with meaning and memories. The night concludes with a beachfront farewell dinner under the stars. It’s not goodbye. It’s “see you again”—because Ghana never really lets you go.

Day 9: Bids, Bonds & Bright Goodbyes - November 13th

Your final day offers space to pause and savor. You can choose rest at the beachfront or join your guide for last-minute shopping at Makola Market, Woodin, Global Mamas, or Wild Gecko for keepsakes that carry your experience home.

Eventually, it’s time for goodbyes—but something has shifted. You’re not the same person who arrived. You’ve laughed, cried, danced, learned, and connected with a land that holds your roots. Ghana is no longer a destination on a map—it’s a part of your story.
